Purpose: Control and execution of project management related to commercial and utility-scale PV solar projects.
Position Responsibilities:
- Organize and facilitate internal/external communications as they pertain to project development; hold weekly status update meetings and onsite project meetings with all Stakeholders, Sponsors, and Subcontractors
- Implement all corrective actions scope of work and issue work orders to Subcontractors
- Follow through on all warranty claims and keep a record of preventive and corrective work
- Perform preliminary site visit for evaluation of build-out and feasibility of design
- Responsible for the implementation of all OSHA safety procedures
- Design the following: Site Specific Safety Plan, Staging Plan, Flagging Plan, Traffic Control Plan, Fall protection plan, Emergency Response, and Rescue plan
- Perform, document, and write Site Hazard Analysis, report of all pre-existing conditions, and site evaluation
- Responsible for execution of all contractual obligations to the client based on Prime EPC Contract and review and finalization of Prime EPC agreement
- Coordinate and integrate the activities associated with the engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and warranty elements of the project team, including the activities of all third-party organizations.
- Prepare and approve final cost budgets for the entire build-out based on estimation and procurement cost budget submittal of estimated values and the actual cost
- Review and redline all internal engineering designs for the project; oversee all outsourced design engineering work – Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil Engineering and ensure contractual obligations are met and implemented into the design
- Review and finalize all Scope of Work, Professional Service Agreements, and Subcontractor agreements
- Assist in the selection of subcontractors, award RFP contracts, and assign work for the subcontractor to perform build-out per approved design
- Responsible for managing every aspect of construction projects —from the early development stage beginning after project assignment from sales and through to the final stage and warranty period
- Responsible for final QA/QC inspections of systems
- Responsible for all MV interconnections and documentation submittals to Utility and Township
- Responsible for all permitting applications through State and Federal government agencies, submitting and obtaining building permits from Townships. Act as liaison and manage relationships with governmental, environmental as well as engineering firms and consultants to prepare all necessary documentation for presentation to the proper authorities to obtain permits and licenses.
- Coordination of all necessary construction inspections with state and federal agencies
- Oversee each phase of a project, including, but not limited to, coordination with internal Project Team(s)
- Assign workload and action items to the project team every week
- Determining the necessity of subcontractors or third-party vendors, and taking the appropriate courses of action to ensure the completion of project milestones within deadlines and within approved budgets
- Responsible for all project scheduling and cost control
- Develop, implement, and manage project execution plan, project management plan, project budget, and payment schedule based on contractual obligations; escalate & collaborate with the Director of Operations for resolution of problems that cannot be resolved within the project structure.
- Analyze and review project performance metrics, schedule, budget, and cost; anticipate and/or mitigate project plans that are developed to minimize impacts to the project.
- Develop an understanding of relevant state, county, and city codes, procedures, and regulations required by the local planner and building departments
- Develop an understanding of power companies’ electrical requirements and interconnection agreements
- Acquire appropriate Internal approvals before submitting letters of intent and/or purchase orders
- Evaluate all RFPs and approve POs
- Responsible for proper project invoice management based on subcontractor award and Professional Service Agreement
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Construction General Contracting and/or trade Electrical background a plus
- Knowledge of PV systems, inverters, and project financing
- NABCEP certification, PV training, and/or applicable licensing a plus
- High proficiency with MS Excel, MS Project, MS Visio, Procore software, HelioScope, and Energy Tool Base, in addition to standard MS Office products
Education:
- Construction Management Degree or Engineering Degree a must, Master Electrician, NABCEP Certified, PMP Certified
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineer
- Minimum of 5-7 years of PV commercial construction experience
Location:
Remote with extensive travel to job sites.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up-to 15 pounds (ca. 7 kg) at times.
