Henry Cortes - Owner & Founder

Henry Cortes is the Founder and Owner of Core Development Group and is responsible for the company’s strategic growth and daily operations in the United States, Atlantic, and Pacific Islands. Prior to joining the company, he held the position of Vice President of Project Management for BayWa r.e. Solar Projects, a global leader in the renewable energy market. Cortes is leading the expansion efforts of Core Development Group in the renewable energy industry, such as the solar energy, storage, and microgrid markets.

Cortes brings a significant amount of real-world experience to Core Development Group in project development and construction with over 28 years of general construction experience. He is also experienced in project finance, construction science, business development, managing of leadership teams, and operational processes across a range of industries. Previously, he served as the Owner/Operator of a large electrical contracting firm focused on commercial installations and a general contracting firm focused on real estate development and investments throughout New Jersey. He began his career in the electrical construction trade in 1990.

Cortes studied industrial electric at the Passaic County Technical Institute from 1988 – 1992. He holds a B.S. from the William Paterson University and an M.B.A. from Ramapo College. He holds a Master Electrical license in the State of NJ and is certified by The National American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), certified by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), and certified by the Project Management Institute (PMP). He is fluent in Spanish, English and conversational in Portuguese.


Marc Reimer - VP, Development

Reimer has 15 years of experience in the solar and wind development industries, with a combined expertise in business development and relationship management. With 10 years of project management experience, Reimer also possesses a nuanced grasp of project development.

Reimer was most recently with Obsidian Opportunity Fund, an investment fund specializing in equity investments in utility scale renewable projects located in communities of need (Opportunity Zones). As one of the founding members, he “wore many hats” and was responsible for all aspects of the new investment fund from the development of the investment product to marketing, project acquisition, and fund raising. Prior to Obsidian, Marc was the VP of Development – Renewables for PSEG Solar Source in Newark, NJ where he directed the development and execution of the unregulated solar business strategy for the company.

Reimer has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY and a Master’s in Public Affairs with dual concentrations in Energy Policy and Environmental Policy from Columbia University. He sits on the Board of Directors for Spectrum360, a group of special education schools serving children, adolescents, young adults and adults on the autism spectrum. He also enjoys hiking and traveling with his family.


Dana Hall - General Counsel

Dana Hall is an attorney with 12 years experience in the clean energy sector. Before joining Core Development Group as General Counsel, Hall launched her boutique renewable energy consulting and legal services practice in 2010. She’s held roles with the Pace Energy and Climate Center, a multidisciplinary group working at the intersection of energy and the environment engaging government decision makers, key stakeholders with robust research, analysis in law and policy; as well as, the Low Impact Hydropower Institute (LIHI), a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the impacts of hydropower generation through the certification of low impact hydropower.

Ms. Hall also teaches a dynamic class on climate change to upper-level undergraduate students at Purchase College, and has taught energy policy classes at The Cooper Union School of Continuing Education, Green Building Design Program. She is a frequent speaker at renewable energy industry conferences and events.


Brian Gemberling - VP, Operations

Brian Gemberling is a member of the Core Development Group executive board for strategic development and planning. Gemberling is responsible for the development and implementation of strategy and planning activities including alignment to Core Development Groups enterprise strategy, benchmarking and positioning Core Development Group for growth. Gemberling’s day-to-day role is to oversee operations of Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Project development services at Core Development Group.

Gemberling is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia and holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering. With 12 years of project level experience in construction, project management and estimation working with vendors, contractors, architects, and engineers, Gemberling is experienced in all phases of project development, design and construction.


Leif Cook - Director of Engineering

Leif Cook is the Director of Engineering for Core Development Group and is responsible for a broad range of technical, engineering, and quality related duties. Leif over sees the in-house designs and plan sets, coordinates and manages outside engineering resources, performs site assessments, evaluates new equipment and technologies, models estimated energy production, performs analyses on production data, acts as a third party plans reviewer, acts as a third-party quality control inspector and construction monitor, coordinates with utilities for interconnection studies and approvals, develops and implements technical specifications and standards, performs commissioning tests and inspections, and more.

During his career in the PV industry, Leif has designed, drafted plans for hundreds of MW of installed PV systems. He has acted as third-party design reviewer or construction monitor on hundreds of Megawatts of projects working alongside Leidos Engineering and DNV. Prior to working at Core Development Group, he worked as a design engineer, project manager, and installer of PV systems. Leif’s experience in a variety of roles with wide-ranging responsibilities helps him solve problems with insights from multiple perspectives.

Leif earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado, where he focused on sustainability and renewable energy. He is also trained as a Level I Thermographer.
